The "Sharing" Economy: Issues Facing Platforms, Participants, and Regulators A Federal Trade Commission Workshop
To Members of The Federal Trade Commission, I have been an Airbnb community member and user for the past two years. It is an absolute benefit to myself and my family. The age of the internet has arrived. Connectivity and the reintroduction of the "share economy" has returned to The United States via the internet and is not going away any time soon. During both World Wars people rented rooms, shared crops and services when the economy was in peril. People are resourceful and need ways to adapt now that the middle class has been subjected to severe setbacks due to unethical banking practices that nearly toppled our nation. Go after the banks.....not the people attempting to create additional income and the companies that support them.
