I have been part of the sharing economy for 9 months and find it invaluable for keeping me in touch with people of various ages, backgrounds and from various places , both near and far. I am a pensioner and find that the small payment I receive from my guests while hosting on the Airbnb site is very helpful with the little extras that make life more pleasurable.......the occasional meal out, a movie etc. in return, I have been a guest also when traveling. I feel entirely safe as a host, as the guests are vetted by the organization and they carry an insurance policy against theft or damage to one's property. I have met some wonderful people from the U.S. as well as from overseas. I enjoy promoting the best features this country and my area in particular, to,those who, visit. I encourage the authorities to continue in permitting Airbnb to,operate as it presently does, as well as similar helpful sites which offer transportation such at Lyft and Uber.
