I have been an RN for 20 years, most of that time at a small women's health office. I have also been a single mother of 3 daughters for most of that time as my husband was killed very young by being hit by a car-there was no insurance. I have been able to raise my daughters and am proud to have 2 college graduates and a married daughter now. It hasn't been easy. There are always unexpected expenses raising a family and having a home. Every year, no matter how hard I worked, I found myself more and more in debt. The economy was no help with the cost of college sky rocketing, gas and food prices increasing, income raise freezes and retirement funds taking a huge hit. I had to reassess or look at losing my home and security. Thankfully my daughter mentioned airbnb when I told her I needed to find a roommate (or 2) or I just wasn't going to be able to make it anymore. It has been such a wonderful experience! I no longer stress too much about paying the monthly bills and have extra to add to the ecomomy. I help people by having an affordable place to stay that is safe and secure. They bring money to the city and my neighborhood. I pay more taxes to the government, This is such a good idea, helps me remain independent, gives others a positive experience and I am feeling much more optimistic about the future now. There can be nothing negative to say about this life changing opportunity that Airbnb has given so many.
