Operating an unlicensed, uninsured, not health or fire inspected airbnb is an accident waiting to happen. Tourists need to be forewarned when traveling regarding using an illegal airbnb. It is also very unfair to the legal ones that have paid the price and obeyed the laws to have an approved Bed and Breakfast. Many airbnb operators also do not charge or pay taxes on their income. Recently a very nice home was totally trashed in Calgary, Alberta leaving the owners with loosing almost everything. They did not carry extra insurance, pay taxes or had been health and fire inspected. There has to be a level playing field some how set up for this underground economy and legal bed and breakfasts..
