Airbnb has helped me turn my second home into an income generating business which not only benefits me personally, but also the local and the state economy by providing much needed lodging for vacationers to our area I am paying the city and state 12% of my total revenue as part of the tourist tax. Being part of the sharing economy has enabled me to market my listing with a well established company to prospective guests who rely on a reputation based on experienced sharing relationships within the network of hosts and guests. The security of both hosts and guests are considered and further evaluated based upon shared feedback. Airbnb has parameters in place to protect site users and if at anytime a situation is uncomfortable they encourage the instance to be reported immediately. Reviews and verifications are also available to help insure a growing database of user information to benefit all those accessing the service, as we as a whole are only as good as the sum of our parts.
