We are essentially retired and occupy a comfortably laid-out home, which we secured with extra space for our visiting adult children and their families. With the downturn in the economy, job challenges and subsequent increase in airfares, our kids just do not make it here. Our delightful and private space sat unused. Airbnb gave us an opportunity to raise some needed funds while at the same time, we became ambassadors for our small city of Sarasota. We school our guests in all aspects in a very personalized way. We steer guests to local attractions, restaurants, entertainment, recreation, etc. Our suggestions are always appreciated, as our guests never have end up at an undesirable restaurant or other less than marvelous places. Our local businesses have substantially benefited by our rounds of over 50 parties who have stayed with us. Beyond the obvious financial benefit, we have been enriched by interacting with guests from all over the country and the world. We have been fortunate to have had 50+ rounds of wonderful people sharing our space.
