Dear Federal Trade Commission, I am a mother of two children and was divorced two years ago. I am 57 years old and have been self-employed as an artist and part time college instructor for the past twelve years. I am highly motivated to hang on to my home as it is my children's family home and my studio for my livlihood is on our property. We are also fortunate enough to have a fair mortgage ~ something that would be very difficult to replace. It has been more then difficult for me to create and find jobs to earn enough income to continue to pay my bills. I had a large essentially empty building on my property which over time I have transformed into a beautiful small cottage that I am now pleased to say is online with the fabulous Airbnb site. My cottage has been booked already several times and I am very optimistic that this will supplement my income enormously. I hope that you will see the wisdom in supporting this form of the new share economy. Not only is it a wonderful way to earn supplemental income but also gives myself and my children opportunities to meet people from both near and far.
