Sharing a space on Airbnb has helped me make ends meet as a retired person, living on my savings. Because of Airbnb's trust and safety and messaging tools, I can get to know people in advance that I choose to share space with. With all of the scamming on the internet, and bad press for sites like Craig's list, Airbnb has been a life saver for me. I am so grateful that Airbnb is an option for middle class retired people like me to earn extra money. And the guests who stay with people like me, get to experience the local economy in a way they would never be able to do otherwise. I have experienced Airbnb both as a host and a guest, and it is outstanding in a way that it supports the small businesses in communities across the country.
