I have found AirBnB a great way to generate a little extra income to help with my rapidly rising property taxes. I am in a popular area of Houston that is strangely and unfortunately lacking in Hotels. My room allows people from all over the world come and get a 'real' taste of Houston in a Historic neighborhood surrounded by cafes, coffee shops, galleries, and parks. I find many come here with plans to move to Houston, and many use my room as a 'guest quarters' for friends and family coming in to visit someone in my area. I also feel local businesses get great benefit from our visitors. Having hosted for a year now, I appreciate the verification process guests have to go through to be able to 'book' a stay through AirBnB. The profile lets me get a feel of who the guest is, and the review process helps everyone put their best foot forward.
