The "Sharing" Economy: Issues Facing Platforms, Participants, and Regulators A Federal Trade Commission Workshop
Distinguished Lawmakers- The sharing economy is a prime example of the convergence of technology and an unmet need in the marketplace. It will only make our economy more robust, more efficient and better utilized. The power of online profiles with rating systems and identity verification replaces any need to attempt to impose blanket regulations on this ever evolving and growing space. It will be hard for lawmakers and political processes to evolve fast enough to stay relevant in this new sharing economy. Instead let us lean on the consumer protection laws already on the books outlawing fraud, damage to person or property and other malfeasance. Respectfully, James Kimmel
