The "Sharing" Economy: Issues Facing Platforms, Participants, and Regulators A Federal Trade Commission Workshop
As a 4 year resident of Berkeley, CA and its demanding property costs, buying a home with the amount of space we'll need to start our family seemed somewhat impossible. However, when our realtor found a house in a great neighborhood that had a studio cottage in the backyard, the possibility of owning a home in this area became possible. Our ultimate goal is to be able to afford our home without renting out the backyard cottage full time, so that we can use that space as a guest room or place for our children to get privacy, but for now, the money that we make hosting out of town guests through Airbnb has made owning a home in the San Francisco Bay Area possible. We pay taxes on our income and we think that welcoming guests from all over the world into our neighborhood only enhances it. Please let me know if you have any further questions about my experience with Airbnb.
