Regarding the support of AIRBNB as a host, I can say how wonderful this service is for families to be able to afford to travel and stay in a safe affordable place without having to save up for years to make a trip. People from all over the world come to Hawaii and boost the tourist industry in a way that would not happen if they had to pay the large prices of hotels. The brilliant way in which it is run, allows me to continue living in my place where I have been for over 40 years where cost of living has skyrocketed in cost which was more than I could afford before I started hosting guests on Airbnb. Their method of checking people out before they confirm reservations and them being able to do the same thing makes it much safer than other methods of vacations rentals. The way I see this is that it is a win/win for everyone, host, guests and the economy. Maureen McDonough. Ex-mayor of Kailua 1979 and resident of Hawaii for over 40 years.
