I had been struggling all my life with 2 jobs, Banker during the day and Caregiver by nights. I lost my homes for foreclosure in 2007. I am now renting a 4 bedroom house, and the children have grown up. I love this house. It is also expensive to rent an apartment...So, I am glad, There is AirBnb, a legitimate online business that guided me to use my house to make money. Now I only have one job and stayed home at night chatting and taking care of my guest. I was able to repair and did some renovations and now I can afford to travel because i meet so many friends from the places I dreamed to be. and I don't have to worry working hard at my age. I am 62 and now I can afford to go on vacation and specially can retire and stay at home..because of the income I made hosting thru AirBnb. I have tried so many business before, telemarketing, selling diet products, but non worked. Now, all I have to do is to clean my home, chat with guest online and welcome them in my home. Now, being alone is not as bad because I was busy and the guest make me feel important. At first, I was reluctant of hosting strangers in my home. AirBNB, did everything to make hosting easy and safe for me. They took care of the important part. The financial side of it. and the safety. AirBNB, already verified ID's from the Guest and the host. The review process is also really very helpful. I get all my bookings because, all of my guest leave me a very good review of me. AirBNB is really very important, help people like me, on the middle age group to make extra money to support myself and be happy with what I am doing now. I do not have to compete with new graduates and young with employment. I do not have to force people to buy products or services they do not want. Sharing economy, that is really true. We are bringing in business from international. I have notice, my guest is mostly young generations 18, t0 24. Before only middle class can afford to travel. Now the younger generations can. because, now they have options of staying in a home instead of expensive hotels. More small busineses is making profits, like the grocery stores, the laundry mat, the taxes, buses and UBER. Lastly, I am very happy now, with the AIRBNB, I was able to make money and was able to plan for my next vacations, I was able to renovate my home, and I keep myself physically fit and not being depress because I am very motivated and enjoy hosting my guest.
