Airbnb has helped me financially to pay my mortgage. I rent out my apartment on weekends when I am not there. We are only allowed to rent it for up to 90 days a year in San Jose, CA. I stay within those 90 days and pay local taxes. I am not taking housing away from anyone because I would not take in a roommate. The extra money I earn from airbnb helps me to pay my mortgage. Please don't interfere with the way working class people can make a little extra income. I adhere to the local laws and my airbnb guests are very quiet and respectful. It has been helpful for the guest to have an affordable place to live. I also use airbnb myself when I'm away. I have family in Boston and it is very expensive to stay in a hotel in that area. Again, airbnb helps out the working class person. People with a lot of money (such as yourselves) probably don't have a need for airbnb, but you are in the position to make decisions for us. Please do what is right. There is a lot of negative press on airbnb, but very little of it is substantiated. Airbnb is good for the working class, and the economy. Please support AIRBNB in this country. God knows we need it. Thank you.
