Thank God for Airbnb! Without them I would not be able to support myself after being let go from my employer of 6 years. I was unable to find work in my field in my area and out of desperation I decided to try this Airbnb thing I kept hearing about. I was very skeptical and hesitant at first, but when you have no way to pay your bills, you'll try unusual avenues of income. I'm so glad I did. Since I started hosting guests in my home through Airbnb, I've not fallen behind on any bills and I've been able to avoid asking for government assistance. As a college graduate who made $10,000 last year WORKING FULL TIME!!! I know how to be frugal. So the very thought of having to get help to pay bills and eat was not one I liked. With the money I make from Airbnb I can pay all my bills and have enough money for food as well. I appreciate that Airbnb sends me a 1099 and I'm able to figure out the taxes I owe at the end of the year easily. Please keep Airbnb and similar options available for people like me who are just trying to live, not get rich like the bankers who are doing us all in with their exorbitant greed. Thank you for helping to keep low income Americans working and not dependent on our broken system.
