I am writing to regarding the "Sharing" Economy and to share my experience with Airbnb and what it has done for me this year. I am a recently divorced 38 year old woman who kept her house after the divorce but my mortgage is super high ($3000 per month) due to my ex taking out money on our home. I work independently and have been doing what I can to grow my company and be able to stay working as an entrepreneur. Its been a tough journey as I do what I can to get clients/business and when I found out about Airbnb and the fact that I could host people in my home I saw that as a wonderful option. I posted my spare bedroom on Airbnb on a Monday and by Wed I had my first reservation for 18 days. That reservation was a blessing as it was exactly what I needed to pay my mortgage that month. Having Airbnb as an option to supplement and help me pay my bills is wonderful. It gives me hope and a sense of peace knowing that at any minute I could potentially get a reservation request. My financial worries have lessen because of Airbnb and I am sure that I am not the only person who feels the same. Many people post their spare rooms for different reasons but I know many do it for financial assistance and the fact that this is an option is wonderful.
