I want to let you know how airbnb has helped me. I am a 62 year old retired, single woman with disabilities on a small fixed income. Sharing a space on Airbnb has significantly helped me pay the mortgage, property taxes, insurance and utility bills. In addition, Airbnb's trust and safety and messaging tools really help to get to know the people I choose to share my home with. I also like knowing they have an insurance policy that covers any loses I might incur even though I have never had to use it given the great system of approving my guests. I firmly believe that Airbnb is an important option for middle class families in America to earn extra money. Some host rent out a spare bedroom in their home and some rent their whole home. I know of a case where a host lost his job so instead of losing his home, he started home sharing on airbnb. I also believe that the guests who stay in Airbnb listings generate sustainable, local economic activity that supports the small businesses in communities across the country. The founders of airbnb are brilliant in my opinion. Thank you airbnb for the service you have provide to me.
