The "Sharing" Economy: Issues Facing Platforms, Participants, and Regulators A Federal Trade Commission Workshop
[REDACTED] I have a son serving in the military (13+years) who is divorced and his son - my grandson - lives in a different sate. His work situation currently requires him to put in very very long hours and this has caused further difficulty with his current partner and their son. He needs my financial help as does my grandson. My son cannot take time off to be with his son, so I fly out So they can visit as often as I can. A long story short, I am now working with AirBnB in an attempt to contribute financially and help my family. This option will also allow me to eat healthier food [REDACTED]. I can no longer afford the healthier foods I know I should eat [REDACTED]. I live in a lovely area in the mountains and feel that sharing space may help my situation while allowing others to experience the beauty here as well. I would normally not wish to share my story.....but perhaps there are others also in this situation. This is the only option I could see for myself. It is legal, it is income producing, and it will make me a more "normal" participant in society. I hereby am declaring my explicit request for confidential treatment, including the factual and legal basis for the request, any portion of my comments describing any real persons by name or implication or any personal address or location sited are requested to be withheld from the public record. The request will be granted or denied by the Commission's General Counsel, consistent with applicable law and the public interest. See FTC Rule 4.9(c), 16 CFR 4.9(c).
