The benefits of Airbnb versus the traditional form of staying at a hotel/hostel are beyond words. The sometimes unique bond that is formed between the guest and the host is something hotels only wish they could achieve. The income generated from the short term rentals is very crucial to cope with the sometimes fluctuating economy, not to mention sustaining the local micro economy. It is not always easy to live in the neighborhood you want to live in and with the income from Airbnb this can easily be achieved . The 'home-away-from-home' experience is yet another part of Airbnb's charm and attraction. The team at Airbnb make it easy and safe to ensure that the guests and the hosts are carefully vetted so no scams occur. I found that very reassuring. In short, I find Airbnb a very invaluable platform both as a renter and as a guest, in sustaining the local economy.
