The "Sharing" Economy: Issues Facing Platforms, Participants, and Regulators A Federal Trade Commission Workshop
The "sharing" economy makes it possible for us to keep our home. It creates an income that enables us to continue to make the mortgage payment and afford monthly expenditures. It is an integral part of our families income and vital for our families sustainability in the current market. It is also helpful in bringing families to the area that we live. We live in an area that can be very costly for families to come to during certain months of the year. Our home offers an affordable alternative to high-end hotels and allows families to come who might not otherwise have an opportunity. It helps small businesses in the area by bringing in additional business. Overall, the "sharing" economy is a win-win for us and the local businesses in our area. We are not taking away business from hotels because the people who will stay with us could not otherwise afford to come to the area.
