Airbnb saved us financially. I was unemployed for a little over a year. I was on public assistance for me and my daughter. Being a widow, I wasn't left with many options financially. I desperately need us to get ahead and to stop just surviving. I stumbled onto Airbnb on Facebook and signed up. Within a week I had our first guests. We've had people stay with us from all over the world in the almost 5 years that we have been Airbnb hosts. Some guests are here for vacation, some for work or relocating. Whatever the reason, they sightsee and do all the tourist places. They shop at our malls and rent cars. So, definitely an influx of funds into the local economy. It also allowed me to get off of public assistance. My mortgage is now paid off. We almost lost our home when I was unemployed. So, definitely allow people to have Airbnb in their homes.
