I am a relatively new Airbnb host, currently with three reservations/stays booked or completed. This option to earn more income is invaluable to me. Not only is it helping me meet basic expenses, but as this income stream develops, it will assist me in the ability to spend money on travel. Until now, I have not had the extra income to enable me to travel out of town to visit my three adult children, two of whom are in military service. Not only does this income help provide for necessities that are sometimes hard to pay for, such as prescriptions, but it will enhance my quality of life by seeing my children more than once a year when they are able to come home. My Airbnb guests contribute to the local economy while visiting, spending money on restaurants and entertainment and enriching our community as a result. As you consider the "sharing economy," please know that these ventures impact real people in very real, life-changing ways. Thank you.
