The "Sharing" Economy: Issues Facing Platforms, Participants, and Regulators A Federal Trade Commission Workshop
In a very expensive city like SF and most major cities, it has become harder and harder in this economy to make ends meet. AirBnB has allowed me not only to forego a 2nd job, but also allowed me to support my community and it's many small businesses. SF has made 100s of millions of dollars in additional taxes and improved the city with the money flowing in from this sharing economy. It is short sighted and anti small business to try and shut these services down. The only people hurt by any restrictions are your constituents and small businesses. Work with the people, do not fight this rising tide.
