The "Sharing" Economy: Issues Facing Platforms, Participants, and Regulators A Federal Trade Commission Workshop
When I'm able to rent out my home for a few weeks, it enables ME to travel and spend vacation dollars and put that money right back out there into the economy. I find it crazy that the lobbyists in certain cities (I believe San Francisco and New York City are two of them) have managed to outlaw private vacation rentals, and the City of Austin limits the number of units. This is a democracy and a free market economy (isn't it?) - let travelers stay wherever they choose!
