Being an AirBnB host has been an important financial decision for me. After being on food stamps just a few years ago, to now being able to afford my own apartment, the income has been crucial for my path to financial recovery. I have also used AirBnB as a traveler and the more-affordable rates have made it possible to have a higher quality of life as I can more easily afford to travel and spend money in other economic areas of the United States. I have met people from different cultures, different geographic areas around the country, and different life philosophies. It's a community that I feel honored to be a part of. Home sharing is an incredibly smart way to take advantage of existing resources that already exist in our world. At a time when the population is booming and the economy is slowly catching up, it's a great investment in the existing infrastructure and allows for people like me to get ahead financially and better afford to contribute to the community around me. I also see this as a privacy issue. This is my home!! I feel strongly that I should be allowed to use it to my own advantage and make income off of it. I will never have the sort of family that can write me big checks and pay off my bills for me - I have been working hard for over a decade and contributing to my society as much as possible - I believe that it's my right to make money using my own property! Please know that the additional income that I have made from being an AirBnB host has had a massive income in my financial recovery - one that I most certainly would not have been able to make without it. I am doing everything I can to stay of any government subsidy program and this is one way that I can do that! There is no reason that this should be offensive to anyone. Thank you for your time.
