As a host for Airbnb, I was able to meet some of my expenses as a senior citizen on Social Security as my main source of income. With Airbnb services I felt comfortable having strangers come into my home and stay in my guest bedroom upon occasion. I felt that having the ability to communicate with guest prior to accepting request, I could get a feel for my safety and the right 'fit'. With Airbnb collecting the money prior to guest arrival I felt more assured that there was no scamming. People stay here during huge events when there are not enough motel rooms. Having people 'verified' before being accepted to stay makes me a single senior feel safer. It is a win win situation enabling my available space to be utilized at a very fair price, the guest having a place to stay, the IRS getting their due, Airbnb making some money, and me being able to make some bills in this very tight economy. It keeps tourism alive and well and opens the door for intercommunication. Thank you for your understanding of this important opportunity to be resourceful in our beloved US of A!!!
