Air BnB is amazing for young people or low income people who can't afford to leave their home while paying rent on an empty place. I'm a musician and I had some work in Paris and was able to rent my room for 9 days of the 12 that I was gone and make back my rent costs with a little bit of profit. It's a beautiful thing to share my home with people who are in a similar situation - traveling on a budget. Air BnB has to stay - it is born out of the modern era - we are all connected and helping people and sharing resources is more possible and frankly more necessary than ever. I pay tax on the income I make from Air BnB, and while it bypasses certain hotel taxes, it's NOT a hotel! It's strangers that become friends. I screen guests carefully and only accept if I get the feeling that I could offer them my place if I did know them. Thank you for your consideration, and please, in the interest of the sharing economy please allow Air BnB to continue and support the small time entrepreneurs that are just trying to make a little extra income on the side.
