How much commerce does the sharing economy produce? A lot! And paired with Obamacare, it allows people like me to leave corporate jobs we hate because we can now make a living of expensive assets and not be hamstrung by insurance from an employer. I own a couple of small businesses on the side and regulating sharing economy activities on a Federal level just doesn't make sense. Local and State laws are already enough overhead for these activities so any more regulation takes away the core benefit of these activities. Things like Lyft, airbnb, HomeAway will continue to happen so please don't regulate anymore and stifle the competition that makes these activities lower prices on transportation and lodging...the main reason hotels and taxis cost more is regulation and don't bring that burden to sharing economy opportunities for the little people like me...please!
