The "Sharing" Economy: Issues Facing Platforms, Participants, and Regulators A Federal Trade Commission Workshop
As an entrepreneur, an investor and a consumer, "sharing" economy products and services such as those provided by Uber, Airbnb and Lending Club have had a transformative impact on my ability to run my businesses efficiently and to access affordable, on-demand services as an entrepreneur and a consumer that were historically impossible to conceive of. This is a long way of saying that the emergence of "sharing" economy companies has directly improved my livelihood and that of my family. I would strongly support anything that can be done to continue to ensure that these types of products and services are offered in a safe and freely-competitive manner, and my hope would be that the United States would continue to be a place where this type of innovation can thrive.
