The "Sharing" Economy: Issues Facing Platforms, Participants, and Regulators A Federal Trade Commission Workshop
In short, I love the sharing economy! I have been participating as a consumer, a provider of services, and now I am launching a company named GoShare that connects drivers who have a pickup truck or van with people and businesses nearby that need help loving, hauling, and delivering cargo in demand. The sharing economy had created 100,000 + jobs, saves consumers money, and helps people trust people. The trust being most important as I feel trust between people has been lost in the past decade. lastly, services like Uber, Lyft and soon GoShare will reduce the problem of overconsumption by facilitating collaborative consumption. This will have a positive environmental impact in the coming years. I am proud to support and participate in the sharing economy. I hope the FTC will help to create a new class of workers that is a middle ground between an employee and an independent contractor. I think that will alleviate some of the problems that the labor side of the industry industry is facing.
