I have added my home # and 2 cell phone #'s to the " Do Not Call" list more than once since last year... because.... we cannot have a peaceful night at home without someone calling us asking for money. Be it Fraternal Order of Police, Cancer centers, etc. We also get credit card solicitations, as well as cable, telephone, etc. We've also been harrassed when we've declined to the point where some non-english speaking group calling from a number out of Miami area called more than 6 times in a 10 minute span only to threaten me and call me obscene names. I know the government is capable of doing things we think are only seen in movies. Put some of that intel to good use. Americans give and give and give and nobody ever gives back. Lack of privacy is getting out of hand and now the government can step in and do something for its own people. I should not have to pay to have my privacy. I am tired of being " a-la-carte'd" to death for everything from phone service, to healthcare. This should be a cut and dry solution just like the no call lists in fincial solicitations. If they are on the list, you cannot call- PERIOD.....unless you wish to face a huge fine. Also, FTC should require any and all companies telemarking to register their company phone #'s (all of them) and addresses.
