Most autos were made to run on gasoline. In the recent decades, ethanol alcohol was introduce into the automobile fuel supply in hope of reducing smog, foster US economy and help the US break our fuel dependance on the OPEC nations. However, many consumers are having to pay a higher price for our ethanol blinded fuel because the two fuel type have different combustion levels. It has resulted in consumers filling their gas tank more frequently, resulting in higher cost of transportation. Many consumers have relied on the old, outdated "Octane" rating to determine the quality of the fuel they purchase without realizing they are paying more for the same gallon of fuel because the ethanol mixed fuel do not go as far as 100% gasoline. In my opinion and my request is to rate MPG based on fuel types top better help consumers know what they are really paying for gas per mile.
