16 CFR Part 306; Automotive Fuel Ratings, Certification and Posting; Project No. R811005
To whom it may concern, I am writing to request the Commission consider the labeling of Ethanol fuels at retail pumps carefully. Ethanol fuels have been proving to be harmful to classic cars, motorcycles, off-road vehicles, and lawn equipment. The possibility of mislabeling at the pumps is a danger that could cause devastating and expensive to repair damage to the aforementioned vehicles. Labels are not the answer. Requiring fuel stations to designate separate pumps or pump islands, similar to those used to dispense diesel fuel, is the only way to prevent using the wrong fuel. Your consideration is greatly appreciated.
