Business Opportunity Rule
I am writing because I believe the Business Opportunity Rule, Matter No. R511993- would very much effect my personal family income and that of the people I manage in my business. We have never had any issues with fraudulent business practices and I feel that the Rule that is proposed would greatly effect the way not only the vast majority of the people in my buisness are able to earn an income and grow a a business-- but is in fact something that would cause many of the people who would be interested in trying this type of business to become more apprehensive. Most woman today dont have many options when it comes to earning a living and finding a job that is flexible enough to fit around their families lives and needs. This is one opportunity that is able to meet the needs of so many and allows woman to make a good income and still not sacrifice what matters most to them.. This new rule would effect the future of our industry and hurt so many middle american families that relay on this business for the way to make ends meet. Dont penalize everyone for the fraudlent practices of the very few-- These requirements may create unnecessary alarm and concern about the legitimacy of the profession and the business opportunity to prospective distributors. The proposed seven day waiting period between receiving the disclosures and enrollment would likely cause a potential distributor to lose their enthusiasm for joining your company. The costs of complying with the requirements would increase expenses to the company which may be passed on through the selling price of goods or services we offer. I have been in the direct selling industry for over 18 years and have never had a fraudlent claim or mislead anyone -- this business is about helping and serving others and by doing so your own business will grow and florish-- what this rule would do is to put a HUGE ROADBLOCK to the growth of the direct sales industry-- and hurt so many families who count on it for income-- Please DO NOT APPROVE THIS RULE Debbie Traynor- Senior Executive Director At Home America
