Ann I. Jones has been named Regional Director of the Federal Trade Commission's Los Angeles Regional Office, FTC Chairman Robert Pitofsky announced today. Her appointment is effective immediately.

Before joining the FTC, Jones was a partner with Blecher and Collins, P.C., a Los Angeles law firm specializing in antitrust litigation. From 1993 to 1995 she served at the Department of Justice as a Special Litigation Counsel to Assistant Attorney General for Antitrust, Anne Bingaman. In 1993 and 1994, Jones received the Assistant Attorney General's Award for Outstanding Achievement. Previously, Jones taught antitrust law as an adjunct professor at Loyola Marymount University School of Law in Los Angeles.

Jones graduated magna cum laude from Brown University in 1977, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and a National Merit Scholar. She attended the University of California, Berkeley, and received a Masters Degree from the Graduate School of Public Policy and a Juris Doctor from Boalt Hall School of Law, in 1984.

Jones is a member of the American Bar Association, California Bar Association and the Antitrust Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. She resides in Santa Monica.
