A public workshop-conference planned by the Federal Trade Commission to discuss public comments regarding the FTC's guidelines for making environmental marketing claims has been rescheduled for Dec. 7 and 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The location will be FTC headquarters building, Room 432, 6th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C.

The FTC in July announced that it was seeking comments through Sept. 29 on how well the guides are working to prevent false or misleading use of advertising claims such as recyclable, degradable and environmentally friendly. At that time, the FTC also announced the workshop, originally scheduled for Nov. 13 and 14, at which the comments would be discussed. An agenda and a list of participants in the rescheduled workshop will be made public closer to the workshop date. The Commission vote to change the workshop date was 5-0.
