Comments due by March 17 on proposed Merger Remedy study

There is still time to submit public comments on the FTC’s proposal to study the effectiveness of its remedial orders in merger cases. Fifteen years have passed since the Bureau’s previous Divestiture Study, which resulted in a number of important findings that caused the Commission to refine its approach and improve its orders. The Commission now proposes a new study of more recent orders, one that would be broader than the previous study.

The Commission is accepting public comments on its approach, in anticipation of seeking OMB approval to conduct the study. Got comments? File them online by Tuesday, March 17, 2015 (or get them in the mail soon—written comments must be received on or before the deadline).
