FTC returns money to people charged for "free trials" for health products

The FTC is mailing a third round of checks to people who bought “fat burning” and “weight loss” products and other dietary supplements, DVDs, or skin creams, including Pure Green Coffee Bean Plus and RKG Extreme, from Health Formulas LLC, Simple Pure Nutrition, and other related companies.

The FTC alleged that these companies advertised “free trials” of their products but instead enrolled people without their permission into costly membership programs that charged them monthly for new shipments.

The FTC mailed the first round of checks in October 2017 and the second round of checks in December 2018. These distributions resulted in more than $9.2 million in refunds. Because money still remains in the fund, the FTC is mailing an additional 7,872 checks totaling over $375,000 to people who cashed their previous checks and were charged $500 or more by the defendants.

If you get a check, please cash it within 90 days.
