FTC Sends Checks to People Who Lost Money

The FTC is sending a second round of payments to consumers who were harmed by a bogus business and investment scheme known as Digital Income System.

The FTC sued Digital Income System in 2020, alleging that the defendants convinced people to buy into the scheme by telling them that they could earn large sums of money selling memberships in the defendants’ programs. The defendants claimed on their website that participants would “earn between $500 and $12,500 per sale,” and “Every time one of our professionals closes a sale on your behalf, we will send you a huge commission check right to your doorstep.”  Most participants made little or nothing in the program.

The FTC first sent checks in June 2022, which resulted in more than $490,000 in refunds. Because money still remains in the fund, the FTC is mailing an additional 968 checks totaling over $66,000 to people who previously cashed a check in this matter.

If you get a check, please cash it within 90 days.
