Straight Talk, Net10 Wireless, Simple Mobile, and Telcel America customers may be eligible for a refund
A recent FTC lawsuit says that Straight Talk, Net10, Simple Mobile, and Telcel America advertised unlimited data plans, but then slowed or cut off service for some customers. The company that owns these brands, TracFone Wireless, has agreed to settle charges that its “unlimited” data claims were misleading.
Refund checks were mailed to eligible consumers starting on March 22, 2016 through March 29, 2016. Consumers who were eligible for refunds for more than one affected account will receive one check for the combined refund amounts. The refund amount for each eligible consumer depended on the Category or Categories they are in. You can find more information about the different Categories in the Class Notice.
