FTC SENDS SECOND ROUND OF CHECKS TO UBER DRIVERS WHO DIDN'T MAKE PROMISED INCOME

The FTC is mailing a second round of checks to drivers who worked for Uber Technologies Inc. According to the FTC, Uber exaggerated the yearly and hourly income drivers could make in certain cities and states. The company also misled prospective drivers about the terms of its vehicle financing options.

The first round of refunds was sent in July 2018. Because the fund still has money, the FTC is mailing an additional 77,935 checks totaling over $2 million to those who cashed their first check.

Uber drivers in certain cities and states, who first started driving during certain time periods in 2014 and 2015, and did not earn the promised income, are eligible for a check. The eligible areas are:

  • Baltimore, MD
  • Boston, MA
  • Chicago, IL
  • Dallas, TX
  • Denver, CO
  • Houston, TX
  • Los Angeles, CA
  • Miami, FL
  • Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN
  • New Jersey
  • New York City, NY
  • Orange County, CA
  • Philadelphia, PA
  • Phoenix, AZ
  • San Diego, CA
  • San Francisco, CA
  • Seattle, WA
  • Washington D.C.
