FTC SENDS SECOND ROUND OF CHECKS TO VICTIMS OF HEALTH SUPPLEMENT SCAM
The FTC is mailing a second round of checks to people who bought NeuroPlus or BioTherapex, from Health Research Laboratories, LLC.
The FTC and the State of Maine charged Health Research Laboratories, LLC with deceptively marketing two of their health products, NeuroPlus and BioTherapex. According to the FTC, the company claimed that NeuroPlus would protect the brain against Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, reverse memory loss, and improve memory and cognitive performance. The company also advertised that BioTherapex would treat arthritis, relieve joint and back pain, and cause significant weight loss. The FTC charged that these claims were false and not supported by scientific evidence.
The first round of refunds was sent in November 2018. Because the fund still has money, the FTC is mailing an additional 6,940 checks totaling over $150,000 to those who cashed their first check.
If you got a check, please cash it within 60 days.
The FTC never requires consumers to pay money or provide account information to cash a refund check.
