FTC SENDS FULL REFUNDS TO PEOPLE WHO PAID FOR WORK-FROM-HOME OPPORTUNITIES
The FTC is sending full refunds totaling more than $284,000 to people who lost money to a scheme that used spam emails to sell work-from-home opportunities. According to the FTC, Effen Ads sent misleading spam emails that linked to fake news stories and false celebrity endorsements. The FTC says that people who clicked on links in the emails were tricked into paying $97 for worthless work-from-home schemes.
Effen Ads sold their schemes under many brand names, including: Secure Home Profits, Paydays At Home, Home Cashflow Club, Home Cash Code, Home Payday Center, Snap Web Profits, Complete Profit Code, Global Cashflow Center, Global Payday System, Your Income Gateway, Home Payday Club, Web Payday Center, and Home Payday Vault.
