REFUND CHECKS FOR PAYDAY LOAN APPLICANTS
The FTC is mailing a second round of checks to people who were charged a monthly fee after applying for a payday loan online. According to the FTC, Direct Benefits Group didn't make it clear that people who applied for payday loans through its websites would be charged for enrollment in unrelated programs and services.
The FTC mailed the first round of checks in September 2015. Because money still remains in the fund, the FTC is mailing an additional 23,000 checks totaling nearly $990,000.
