FTC sends money to people targeted by phony debt collection
The FTC is mailing a second round of checks to people who paid Delaware Solutions, a debt collection company. According to the FTC and the Office of the Attorney General of the state of New York, Delaware Solutions ignored evidence that the debts were invalid, failed to identify themselves as debt collectors, falsely portrayed themselves as process servers or attorneys, and falsely threatened arrest or litigation for failure to pay.
The first round of checks was mailed in July 2018. Because money still remains in the fund, the FTC is mailing an additional 426 checks totaling more than $37,000. People who cash both checks are getting 100% of their money back.
If you receive a check, please cash it within 45 days.
