FTC Returns Money to Businesses After Computer Support Scheme
The FTC is mailing a second round of checks to businesses that lost money to CPU Service Inc., a company that sent fake invoices to trick small businesses into paying for computer support and consulting they didn’t order.
The first round of checks mailed in May 2017. Because money still remains in the fund, the FTC is mailing an additional 893 checks totaling more than $10,000.
Recipients should deposit or cash their checks within 60 days.
