PM Sylnic Investigations March 13, 2000 Secretary, Gentlemen: Re: Proposed regulation Title V Gramm-Leach Bliley Act 1999. I am a retired California police officer who honorably served over 28 years protecting the rights of those that lived within my jurisdiction - Pasadena, California. After retirement, I opened Sylnic Investigations. For over 14 years I have been a reputable, licensed, insured and bonded private investigator. Over 100 law firms throughout the world presently contract with Sylnic to provide legitimate litigation support. My judicious access to so called "credit header" information has been tremendously beneficial to my clients and has been responsible for significant economic savings while uncovering fraudulent claims and outright criminals and cheats. The proposed regulations to "credit header" access will seriously impede my client's ability to successfully litigate fraudulent claims. Additionally, I foresee that the implementation of these restrictions will eliminate the effectiveness of honest, law-abiding private investigators throughout the nation. I therefore urge you to adopt a position against any modification of the current "credit header" access procedures and practices as they effect the efforts of legitimate U.S.A. private investigators. Cordially, Nick Roberts |
