I think that vets should be required to provide a prescription for any meds prescribed for your pet at no cost. My vet will provide a prescription at a cost of $10.00. This doesn't seem right to me. I think that it is important to include that the prescription must be provided free of cost to the clients. This is part of being a vet similar to a dr. It's my experience that vets stick it to you on the cost of medications particularly heartworm preventative. If they had to provide prescriptions at no charge then they would have to price their meds competitively. It isn't like they aren't making a barrel of money as it is. To me this is just greed on their part. What is the reason to charge $10.00 to have someone on their staff provide a prescription There are a lot of animals in need in the US right now and leaving more money in pet owner's pockets will save some lives. Isn't that what we should all be striving for Saving more of our pets lives It is very sad at the number of senior animals that are being turned into to shelters now. So any legislation to regulate vets is a good thing in my opinion. They charge a lot of money and aren't really regulated.
