Pet Medications Workshop, Project No. P12-1201 This law is completely unnecessary in many states including California where veterinarians are already required to provide prrescriptions any time a consumer requests it and the consumers do so in large numbers. Those who prefer the convenience of immediate purchase do so. There is no need to generate reams of wasted paper and hours of wasted time writing prescriptions for people who don't want them. There is already tremendous competition in this sector. In fact there is more than there has ever been in all of the history of veterinary medicine. This is an unnecessary and wasteful law that will just result in higher costs for veterinary care for consumers as vets have to raise prices to cover the costs of writing 1000s of unused prescriptions.
