I respectfully ask the FTC to read and consider the attached letter commenting on this Consent Order as the outcome of this matter will significantly affect my company and other resellers. Resellers of credit information play an important role in today's credit climate, providing vital information and local service to our customers. We provide a local presence for Consumers to turn to when they need help with their credit reports. Anytime a consumer has their report pulled by one of our customers we are able to help them understand their report, file any disputes with the repositories and provide them with an updated copy of their report after the dispute has been investigated without any compensation. Consumers get a live person when they call our office, whether we can help them because their file was pulled through our office or whether we have to refer them on to the repositories Consumers appreciate speaking to a live person. By placing this undue burden on resellers to be responsible for safeguarding consumer information that has left their control could put some resellers out of business. Fewer resellers would mean fewer places for Consumers to turn to for assistance. Small service oriented businesses such as ours is what America was founded upon. As the third generation to run the Credit Bureau of Council Bluffs, Inc. I implore you to read the attached letter and reconsider placing this undue and unfair burden on resellers. Sincerely, Heather Russell-Schroeder President Credit Bureau of Council Bluffs, Inc.
